Teekesselchen - 3

Updated: May 12

this refers to the English translations given in this Instagram tile

"Teekesselchen" = "little tea pot"

is a parlour game involving homonyms (words which have two or more meaning in different contexts)

Rules:

Two players form a team and agree on a homonym. Each player "adopts" one of its meanings and attempts to describe it to the audience who have to guess what's being talked about. The most efficient way is to find synonyms of each of the meanings.

The audience is split in two teams and who ever guesses correctly first secures a point for the team.

The origins of this name are unclear but the most prominent explanation is the fact that "Kessel" itself has two meanings in German:

1) a pot to boil water in

2) fool (from the Jiddish: Kessil)
